Chapter 9 – The Pale Realization

“Read the contingency clause on page four, Mom,” Callan instructed, his voice completely devoid of any remaining mercy for the woman who had just assaulted his pregnant wife.

Sabina flipped to the fourth page, her breathing becoming incredibly shallow and rapid.

“Dad didn’t leave the estate to you,” Callan continued, his voice ringing with absolute, undeniable power. “He left it entirely to me, but placed it in a blind holding trust to protect it from your interference. The clause explicitly states that upon the confirmed pregnancy of my first child, 100% of the Sterling family assets, including this house, all corporate holdings, and all liquid accounts, transfer immediately and irrevocably into my sole possession.”

Sabina gasped, dropping the papers onto the grass as if they were covered in acid.

“You don’t control the money, Mom,” Callan stated coldly. “You haven’t controlled it for eight months. The bank finalized the transfer yesterday morning. You are currently living on a fixed, unalterable monthly allowance that I approve. You have absolutely no power to freeze my accounts, and you certainly don’t have the financial backing to hire lawyers to steal my child.”

The realization hit Sabina with the force of a freight train. The immense, untouchable wealth she had used to terrorize her family, abuse the staff, and assert her dominance over high society was completely, permanently gone. She was nothing but an angry, bitter woman covered in cake.

“Callan… please,” Sabina wept pathetically, looking up at her son from the grass, completely abandoning her arrogant pride. “I’m your mother! You can’t just take everything! I was only trying to protect the bloodline!”

“You just shoved my pregnant wife into a table,” Callan replied, his voice dripping with pure disgust. “You crossed a line that can never be uncrossed. You are going to pack your bags, and you are going to leave my house.”

He turned his back on her entirely, walking straight back to Jessamine.

Chapter 10 – The Ultimate Justice

The eviction of Sabina Sterling was incredibly swift and utterly merciless.

While the wealthy guests awkwardly gathered their belongings and fled the patio, completely horrified by the scandalous downfall of their friend, Callan called his private security team. Sabina was not given the luxury of packing her own bags. The guards escorted her directly off the property, covered in dried cake frosting, forcing her into a taxi while the staff boxed up her clothes to be shipped to a modest, small condo Callan had arranged across the city.

She was completely cut off from the lavish lifestyle she had so violently tried to protect, permanently ostracized by her elite social circle who had witnessed her pathetic, humiliating defeat.

Jessamine was taken immediately to the hospital for a precautionary ultrasound. Thanks to her protective instincts during the fall, the baby was completely unharmed and perfectly healthy.

One month later, the sprawling, beautiful Sterling estate was filled with bright, warm sunlight and the joyful, peaceful sound of a newborn baby crying.

Jessamine sat comfortably in a plush rocking chair on the patio, wearing a soft robe, gently feeding her beautiful, perfectly healthy baby boy. The heavy shadows of her mother-in-law’s toxic presence were completely erased from the home.

Callan walked out onto the patio, carrying two warm cups of coffee. He set them down on the table, smiling brightly as he looked at his wife and his son. He leaned down, gently kissing Jessamine’s forehead and then pressing a soft kiss to the baby’s tiny cheek.

He had faced the ultimate betrayal from his own blood, stood his ground against deeply toxic manipulation, and fought with the ferocity of a lion to protect his family.
